Happy Monday!
Using an art material of your choice, create an illustration for the following prompt: Draw a basketball player dunking a chicken. Check back on Wednesday to see Ms. Miller's drawing! You can comment with a photo of your drawing or below or send it to [email protected]!
Here's our first challenge, folks!! With the help of an adult, research a famous work of art that you want to recreate yourself. This could be a painting, sculpture, drawing, or photograph. Step 1: Pick your artwork. Step 2: Find at least 3 props from around your home to use in your photo. Step 3: Pose and snap your picture! Then share your creation with me at [email protected] so that I can see your fantastic photos! Don't forget to tell me what work of art you were inspired by! I can't wait to see your creations! Stay safe, stay indoors! Ms. Miller All photo credits are given to @tussenkustenquarantaine on Instagram. A friend of mine shared this video with me over the weekend! Look at how cool this is!
This is one example of how science and art connect! This is a Pendulum Wave (similar to a Netwon's Cradle). The structure has 15 weighted pendulums, separated equally on a frame. The time that each sphere takes to move to and fro is dependent on the length of the string it is attached to. By using the wooden bar to start the swinging at the same time, the spheres begin swinging side to side, revealing different wave, and in this case color, patterns! Comment the color groups that you identify below! :) Happy World Art Day to all of my amazing artists! I have an Art Day Challenge for you! Marvel released a challenge today on their Instagram page (link here) to create Captain America's shield out of safe household materials! You know that I can't let a challenge featuring my favorite superhero pass by without sharing it and trying my hand at it! You can use anything you have lying around the house to create the shield. I'll post the picture of my shield this evening on this post! Don't forget to share pictures of your shield with me at [email protected]! Happy creating! Ms. Miller Hey there, folks!
I can't believe that it's been a month since I've seen all of you amazing people in person! I miss you and being able to create art with you all! I hope that you have been able to find things to enjoy while practicing social distancing to stay safe! I have been spending my time in quarantine crocheting, baking, taking professional development courses, making demonstration videos, and illustrating some coloring pages that I plan on sharing with you all soon! Due to the unique circumstances we find ourselves in, we are able to stretch and explore ways to learn remotely! I created this website as an easy way for K-8 scholars and their families to connect to our studio! Here's a quick breakdown of the site:
I can't wait to see the wonderful things you all will create! Stay safe y'all! Ms, Miller P.S. Where did the cow hang her paintings? In the MOO-seum! |
